The scene opens up in the newly designed REV studios. At a staging area for promos stands three men. One of the three men is a well-dressed African American in a 3-piece suit. He is holding a microphone and a couple of stage hands are putting make-up on him and making sure his hair looks ready for the promo. The second man is a skinny little white guy wearing windbreaker pants and a windbreaker jacket over a red t-shirt. Finally, the third guy is a semi-muscular Samoan in black shorts and a zipped up gray hoodie pulled slightly down over his head. The stage hands finally finish up with the three men and step off-stage. The man with the microphone lifts the microphone up as he looks into one of the cameras that the crew points to.
Man: Hello everyone, this is Luscious Jackson here. I’m not an official REV announcer, interviewer or anything related with the company. I have been hired to follow the career of the man standing here with his manager, Jayson Stasiak. That man is one of REV’s original signed talent and his name is Keynan Isara. Jayson, it is a pleasure to see you once again my man.
Jayson grins and nods as he shakes Luscious’ hand.
Jayson Stasiak: Luscious, as always it is a pleasure to see you behind the mic and have you interviewing one of my clients. You were always mine and Gravedigger’s favorite interviewer over the years. It’s just too bad that that OTHER company which shall not be named let you go.
Luscious holds his hands up and shakes his head.
Luscious Jackson: Hey, hey, Mr. Stasiak. Don’t worry about it. We live, we learn, and we move on. If I’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that if I stick with you and whoever you’re managing, then I’m going to be just fine. So let’s get down to it. Here we are in the lovely studios of Revolution Wrestling or as most people will be referring to it, REV. How does it feel to be here in this brand new company?
Jayson Stasiak: You know, I gotta say it feels great. I haven’t been a manger in a couple of years, as you know I was helping run a little developmental federation known as Penn State Wrestling Federation where Keynan was wrestling at and we get this call from a mutual friend of mine and REV’s owner Michael Mattet. He tells me that Mr. Mattet and his business associates are looking to open a new wrestling organization and they are looking for some talent. Our mutual associate knows who I am and so I had not that long ago taken Keynan here under my wing.
Keynan stands with his arms crossed over his chest, brooding as the camera pans to him for a few seconds before returning to Jayson and Luscious.
Jayson Stasiak: So I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity for Keynan here after seeing him do so well in PSWF and a couple of other companies. So here we are, getting ready to fly out to the wonderful city of Las Vegas, Nevada for REV’s first show.
Luscious Jackson: What exactly do you think of the talent that will be on display here in REV? You have people such as Tek the Wildcard, Tyler Chrono, Jakob Swift, Jayde Brooklyn, a guy who says he’s Santa Claus, Jason Kash and Keynan’s first round opponent in the world title tournament Eric Price.
Jayson Stasiak rubs his chin for a couple of seconds before nodding.
Jayson Stasiak: I have to say that I’m impressed with the talent. I am familiar with people like Tek, Jason Kash, and Eric Price. These are all talented men that I have seen on television before and know that those three men are talented. As for Tyler, Jakob, and the others, I can’t really say how I feel as I’ve never heard of any of them.
Luscious Jackson: What do you think Keynan’s chances are against any of them, Eric Price in particular.
Jayson Stasiak turns and claps Keynan on the shoulder. Keynan glances over and looks back at the camera.
Jayson Stasiak: I have complete and total confidence in my protégé here, Keynan Isara. Like I said, there’s some talent here in REV, but this man right here….Keynan Isara defines talent. I’ll admit it that he’s still relatively new to this business, and in most cases experience wins out, but Keynan is a different beast altogether. Keynan Isara climbed to the top of the mountain in PSWF. He knows what it’s like to go from the very bottom of a company to the top and be the man everyone wants to beat, to be in that spot where everyone wants to be. Yeah, PSWF might not be the big times like some of the other companies out there and like REV will likely be one day, but I have total and complete confidence in the man standing beside me that he will be the first Revolution champion.
He’s going to be the man who defines Revolution Wrestling. Keynan Isara is going to be the man to beat here in REV. A year from now when this place is bustling with talent and everyone is watching it and it beats out all the primetime shows in the ratings, it’s going to be because people came to REV’s shows. It’s going to be because they came to the shows to see Keynan Isara. I don’t care if they come to watch him win or if they’re standing there in the audience or watching at home or the local bar hoping that he loses. It’s not going to matter because Keynan Isara is going to be Mr. Revolution and I’ll tell you right now that he’s going to prove that this week against Eric Price. Keynan, why don’t you explain to Eric Price and the rest of REV what they have in store for them?
Keynan turns to Jayson and smirks. He reaches up and pulls back his hoodie and steps forward. He grabs the mic from Luscious and looks right into the camera as he lifts the mic.
Keynan Isara: You want to know what I have in store for Eric Price and the rest of this company? Pain. Violence. Destruction. Annihilation. These are the things I have in store for anyone in this company that steps in front of me or is put in front of me. That includes the referees, that includes security, even as high up as the owner Michael Mattet. Even though Jayson says that I’m going to be the one who brings in the ratings and the people to watch me on REV, I’m not here to make friends. I’m not here to bring in ratings. I’m not here to make this company money. I’m here to break people. I’m here to hurt people. I’m here to beat everyone in my way to becoming the best in this company. As far as I’m concerned, yo, I am already the best in this company. As far as I’m concerned, anyone who wants to say that they’re the best REV has to offer has to beat me first, until then they’re nothing but a punk.
Victim number one, or as the bookers like to refer to him, Eric Price. You wanna run your mouth about the S.O.S. like you’re some know-it-all big shot. You want to talk about uneducated, let me explain something to you. Sons of Samoa isn’t a street gang of Samoa. I don’t live in Samoa. We’re everywhere especially out on the West Coast and you sit there in your golden palace with your silver spoon shoved up your <censored> talking trash about people like me like you’re better. Yeah, you might be better off and live a grander life, but that doesn’t mean that when we step into the ring that you’ll have your hand raised at the end of the night. Far from it. I’ll tell you right now that the only way you’re going to have your hand raised at the end of the match will be if I’m choking you out so hard in the Samoan Sleeper that the referee lifts your arm three times to make sure that you’re not knocked out. You’ll be lucky if I even allow you to tap out.
You tell me to not underestimate you and I can promise you that the last thing I will do is underestimate my opponent. I will come at you like you’re the biggest challenge of my life, brah. And I will cut you down to size and I will beat you right in the middle of that ring. I will rip your insides to shreds as I spear you and then I will choke the life out of you to win the match. That is exactly how this match is going to go. You’re going to walk into that ring thinking your experience and your self-confidence and believed greatness is going to win you this match and you’re going to witness first hand as I turn your world upside down and drop you on your head.
If anyone shouldn’t be underestimated, it’s me. Yeah, I’m as they say green. Yeah, I probably don’t have the kind of in-ring experience that you have, but when it boils down to it, all that matters is what goes on inside that ring. I’m Samoan and while I might not be from the famous Anoa’I family like The Rock, Yokozuna, Rikishi, The Headshrinkers and many other famous Samoans, I did get trained by them. I am a Son of Samoa, not just because of my ties to the street gang, no I am a Son of Samoa. I have the blood of thousands of great Samoan warriors running through my veins.
Eric Price, you call me a wild and uneducated brute. Wild? Oh yeah, I am wild. Brute? Hell yes. Uneducated? Gotta disagree with you there, brah. I have an education from the streets, a place you couldn’t handle. Tell you when I’m part of a gang that matters? <Censored>, you wouldn’t last more than a minute out on the streets to begin with, much less with members of S.O.S.. Tomorrow night at Proving Grounds, you’re going to get an education. You’re going to get an education on the proper way to take an <censored> kicking. You’re going to get an education on what it’s like to be in the ring with a wild brute from Samoa, a thug from the streets. You say that I should get used to hearing the name Eric Price and you’re damn right that I will get used to hearing your name. I’m going to get used to hearing your name because the television commentators each week are going to be repeating your name as who my first victim was and they’re going to be talking about how Eric Price received the biggest <censored> kicking they’ve ever seen. They’re going to be reminding the people at home each week how dangerous I am when I step into the ring with whoever I’m pitted against all because of what I did to you. They’re going to be talking about how the legendary REV career of Keynan Isara started with the total annihilation of one Eric Price. A piece of advice, don’t show up tomorrow night, because you’re going to lose and you’re going to get hurt.
Keynan reaches back and pulls his hoodie back over his head and walks off camera. Jayson Stasiak and Luscious Jackson grin while nodding their heads as the scene fades to black.
Man: Hello everyone, this is Luscious Jackson here. I’m not an official REV announcer, interviewer or anything related with the company.
